Its so easy to lose yourself when things start to fall apart. You feel like you’re the only person going through trials and tribulations while everyone around you is doing good. After a while you start to compare yourself to others and question God. How come I didn’t get that promotion and my co-worker who doesn’t even believe in God did? Why am I struggling financially, and I go to church every Sunday and my friend who never attends is doing better than me? The result of comparing yourself to others and questioning God can often lead to stress, depression, anger, jealousy, resentment, and even feeling like a failure. You notice others at work, school, on social media, and even church “appear” to look like they have it all together while you’re struggling, trying not to go crazy. Because of this, you start to want what they have or something similar.
You feel like you’re not good enough or where you should be at in life. Whether it’s owning a home, marriage, having children, promotion, new job, or being financially stabled. Instead of being grateful for what God has done, you still feel like its not enough. So you start making your own moves. There is nothing wrong with making your own moves, but when you try to rush the process and fail to trust God’s timing, it rarely works out without God. You’re trying to do it all alone and keep making mistakes along the way. Understand you cannot do it alone.
As children of God we don’t want to go through struggles, pain, trials and tribulations, even though Jesus did it for us. Sometimes when things don’t go our way, we get upset, and blame God for all the problems in our life, not realizing there is a lesson behind every situation you go through. You may not realize why you went through what you did. God is walking with you everyday of your life, He is fighting your battles and preparing you for something better. Trust and believe He is.
God will show up and show out only if you let Him. Better is coming later. Stop beating yourself and be proud of where you are today. No matter the pain, it won’t be for long and God still deserves the praise. You can’t do it alone. Let go and give it to God. The best thing you can do for your life is to allow Him to takeover.
